We’ve completely transformed the FireTech Experience Center (FEC) in Appleton, Wisconsin into a true hands-on, self-guided experience. The goal was simple: make it as easy and intuitive as possible for dealers, fleet managers, and first responders to see exactly what our lights and software can do, without needing an appointment or a sales rep standing next to them.
Walk In Anytime. Press a Button. Watch It Happen Live.
Once you have your access code from us, you can walk into the Experience Center any day, any time. You’ll find an 8-button control panel that puts Sam (yes, our own Sam) on screen giving live demos. The videos are seamlessly linked to the actual lights mounted on the Hummer, so when Sam talks about a feature, you see it happen in real time right in front of you.
Current demos include:
- Whirl-E-Bird (WEB) live demonstration Sam walks through exactly how the WEB works and the features that make it unique: dual circuits that allow true flashing patterns, automatic cut-off of the white light when parked so you stay fully compliant, and a motor that spins in both directions. As he explains each point, the WEB unit in the FEC responds live.
- HVC modes and button functions Clear, practical walkthroughs of the different modes and how the buttons actually behave in the real world.
- HVC software and our full 5-color portfolio Straight explanations of the software logic and why the five-color system gives you more flexibility and better visibility on the road.
You can also step up to the updated Pierce Command Zone display and program the lights on the Hummer yourself. It’s the best way to get comfortable with the software and see the full potential of what these lights can do once they’re configured the way you want them.
During regular business hours, our Experience Center manager Peter is onsite and available if you have questions or want a quick walkthrough.
Real Feel, Real Switches

The Command Zone station itself has been upgraded with three important additions:
- A parking brake that feels and sounds like the real thing (it’s connected to an air compressor so you get the authentic air-brake feel and sound)
- A water pump switch
- A battery switch
These aren’t just props, they’re functional controls that let you interact with the system the same way you would in an actual apparatus.
What’s Coming Next on the Hummer
We’re preparing to update the lights on the Hummer to HiViz Connect version 1.1.3. Once that firmware is live, the water pump switch will give you a live preview of our new Water Level Indicator right on the vehicle. You’ll also notice our new Guardian Mini 5-color warning lights already installed on the Hummer - compact, bright, and ready to show what the latest generation looks like in person.
Catch Us at the Airport Too

While you’re in Appleton, keep an eye out for our new hologram advertising display inside the airport. It’s located just off the concourse as arriving travelers enter the exit corridor, hard to miss and a quick reminder of what’s waiting for you at the Experience Center.
The FireTech Experience Center is now one of the most interactive places in the industry to see emergency lighting and control systems in action. No appointment needed. Just grab your code, walk in, and start pushing buttons.
