Bar-Style Fixtures
Brow lights offer three separate circuits, with an optional marker light circuit. The three circuits are indicated as spot, flood and scene.
For the front and sides of the cab, we recommend “FireTech” optics, featuring a combination of spot and flood configurations for enhanced long-distance visibility.
For the sides and rear of the truck, use only flood optics to provide a consistent wash of white light, ensuring even illumination without hotspots.
We recommend any of our MiniBrow options with FireTech optics (a combination of spot and flood optics).
No. They are single circuit fixtures, either on or off.
When using our OMEN™ Warning Light Bar, we have a J-Foot bracket for mounting it directly to, and beneath, the OMEN™. If you have a different light bar, we have a variety of options. Feel free to reach out to us via phone or email for more information!
All Brow and MiniBrow series lights are equipped with pedestal mounting feet, ideal for installation on horizontal surfaces.
Additional options:
Cab Bracket - For use on 3” radius surfaces with single stack MiniBrow and brow lights.
Pedestal Bracket - For use on flat surfaces.
L-Foot Bracket -The P-MB-LFOOT kit enables mounting of a FireTech Brow Light to a vertical surface while still supporting the fixture along the length of the extrusion.
J-Foot Bracket - For mounting directly to the OMEN™ Warning Lightbar.
LPX End Cap Bracket - For use on flat surfaces with single stack MiniBrow and brow lights under 50”.
For all Brow and MiniBrow options, including double stack fixtures, end cap brackets can also be utilized. However, there are several factors to consider with this mounting method, so we encourage customers to reach out for further discussion.
Absolutely! The MiniBrow series features symmetrical optics in its design, allowing these fixtures to be installed in any orientation, including vertically, without compromising their light output.
BG2S Smart Modular Light System
We provide standard BG2S fixtures ranging from 6 inches to 80 inches in length. For specific custom applications, we have accommodated requests for longer fixtures, including projects for the City of Miami. Please contact us for further details!
No! The BG2S fixtures are engineered to perform various functions, including scene settings, traffic direction, and auxiliary operations, regardless of the chosen color configuration.
We offer nine BG2S extrusions to mount the fixture to the truck. Please reach out to our team or visit this page and navigate to the “Downloads” section for documentation to assist with determining your configuration.
Yes! FireTech offers the BG2S system as a traffic director. It also functions as a scene light and auxiliary warning light.
Each module that makes up a BG2S fixture contains white scene lighting and one other color (amber, blue or red).
While most customers find it most effective to go with a single color for the entire bar, the BG2S offers the ability to, for example, have red and blue modules in the same fixture.
No matter what color configuration is selected, the BG2S fixtures are designed to do scene functions, traffic director functions and auxiliary functions.
Selecting the right control option for your truck will depend on a few considerations. The options offered include:
- The FireTech User Interface Panel - This option allows for scene functions and traffic director functions to be controlled with easy-to-visualize buttons.
- The FireTech System Manager - This option allows control of multiple BG2S fixtures around the truck with OEM buttons in the cab, or with a multiplex screen supplied by the manufacturer.
- The FireTech Stand Alone Controller - This control option is designed to control only one BG2S fixture on the truck. Like the system manager, this option requires OEM buttons in the cab or a OEM supply multiplex screen.
Company
HiViz Lighting Inc. is a holding company, a top-level entity that owns and controls multiple brands that today includes FireTech, Redline by FireTech, and Whirl-E-Bird. HiViz operates as a House of Brands, managing ownership, strategy, finances, marketing, etc.
FireTech produces products for fire apparatus and ambulances.
Redline is a sub-brand of FireTech. It produces products for the fire space, but a subgroup of that space, specifically light duty vehicle lighting.
Whirl-E-Bird is a separate brand with a single product, a rotating warning light for fire apparatus. Yes, it's the same market as FireTech operates in, but due to the unique product and application, we chose to have it stand on its own.

HiViz offered job color fixtures for several years, allowing customers to specify fixtures that match the paint color of their apparatus. However, we made the decision to limit our housing color options to black and white for several reasons that we do believe will ultimately benefit our customer base.
Firstly, there is a significant increase in cost related to the labor and materials required for building one-off color bars.
Secondly, there is a long lead time associated with producing these customized fixtures, at a time when we are all striving to reduce lead times.
Finally, offering job color fixtures adds complexity to warranty situations. Specifically, it means that HiViz is unable to execute the advance exchange aspect of our lifetime warranty, which helps minimize any downtime of an apparatus due to warranty which we know is important to our customers.
Lead time and cost
When a customer orders a job color-matched fixture, the truck manufacturer places an order for a primer housing fixture from HiViz. The fixture then undergoes preparation and taping for paint before being painted in manufacturer's paint booth. This additional process significantly increases the labor involved in producing the fixture and contributes to an extended lead time.
Warranty
HiViz offers an advance exchange lifetime warranty, which allows us to replace a failed fixture with a new one before the old fixture is returned. This approach keeps the truck in service, limiting downtime to the time it takes to swap the fixtures. HiViz aims to keep standard parts in black or white housing colors, in stock, allowing us to quickly exchange warranty fixtures. We do not have spare job color fixtures on the shelf, due to the number of paint options that exist.
When a primer/job color fixture needs repair or replacement, it must either be sent in for repair (leaving the truck without a fixture) or a new primer bar must be shipped to the truck manufacturer, painted, shipped to the customer, and then replaced. This process is more expensive and time-consuming, making the warranty process more challenging for the customer.
Compartment Lights
We offer white, red, red/white, blue, and green LEDs for compartment lights.
Compartment lights are available in 7.5”, 12”, 24”, 36” and 48” lengths.
Headlights
In most applications for fire apparatus manufactured in North America, the FireTech headlight drops right into place and requires no additional wiring (other than the halo wires if desired). There are three exceptions:
- If your fire apparatus does not have standard H4 plugs (different connector), an adaptor harness may be required. Please contact HiViz for more information.
- If your headlights do not operate at all when installed. In legacy headlight systems (halogen), it was not as important that the ground and power be in the correct polarity orientation at the OEM. With LED headlights, it is critical to be wired with the correct polarity for operation. If your headlights do not operate correctly, the most likely problem is mismatching high/low/ground pins. To rectify, use a multimeter or test light to identify which wires correspond to low beam, high beam, and ground on your apparatus, and move pins on FireTech headlight to match. Pins can be popped out of the connector using a small flat screwdriver pressed in to the back of the pin. Please contact HiViz technical support if you require assistance or would prefer someone walk you through this process.
- If your apparatus had a Daytime Running Light provision from the factory, a bypass or reprogramming may be required. This is very common in Canada and on some years of KME apparatus with EsKey multiplex systems. While less common, it can occur on other apparatus as well. If the headlights flicker, flash, or do not seem to operate properly post-installation, first verify all wiring is correct (low to low, high to high, and ground to ground), then contact HiViz Tech support for more information. There has never been a fire apparatus with 4x6 headlights we are unable to support remotely.
Yes. It is permissible to use two high/low FireTech headlights, or two high-only headlight in a four headlight system.
FireTech headlights are rated IP69K, meaning they are designed for sustained high pressure spray.
The GORE PolyVent on the headlight is designed to allow for pressure equalization but is not designed for submersion.
If your application calls for fully submersion rated operation, please contact HiViz Lighting for a PolyVent delete kit.
Most customers do NOT need heated headlights when choosing a FireTech headlight for their apparatus.
Our headlights are designed to operate flawlessly down to -40°F.
While we do offer a heated headlight, we have customers all over the lower 48 as well as in Alaska running our standard version without any problems.
Wig-wagging does not cause a problem for the FireTech headlight. In some instances, if the wig-wag module does not operate correctly post-installation, adding a resistor kit may be helpful. LED Light resistor kits are generally available at your local auto parts store.
Our survey of apparatus manufacturers revealed a significant preference for colored lens versions, with purchases from competitors nearly 20 times higher than those for clear lens versions. Therefore, in selecting our inventory, we aimed to align with the purchasing trends of these manufacturers. As a result, we are offering only one configuration of the stop, tail, turn product line.
Please refer to the wiring diagram on page 8 of the instruction manual.
Generally:
black = ground, red = high beam, blue = low beam, and white = +12v “parking” light (marker lights).
The halo wires should be wired to the closest “parking light” circuit on the truck. This circuit powers all the apparatus marker lights when the headlight switch is in the “first” position.
No. While technically functional, it is not the appropriate use of the SAE “P” parking light circuit in the FireTech headlight. The halo wire should be wired to the parking/marker light circuit on the apparatus.
What you're most likely talking about is a 9007 to H4 adaptor like this one on Amazon.
Alternatively, you may need to move the pins around to match our headlights. Our instruction manual can help with this.

HVC Guardian®
- Check for any missing wedge locks.
- Check to make sure the sockets are all the way seated and latched before wedge locks are installed, a small tug on the conductor should confirm.
- Check to make sure sealing plugs are installed to any open holes in the connectors, if they are not installed water gets inside and kills the connection.
- Check to make sure your sockets haven’t been crimped too tight, if they are crimped too tight it will break the wire off in the terminal contact.
- Check to make sure your twisted shielded CAN wires are all in their correct seats in the plugs. Please refer to the instruction manual for detailed diagrams.
Laser Cannon
The FireTech Laser Cannon provides an advantage when planning for aerial placement. The daytime visible beam projects a spot of light on the ground exactly where the outrigger will land, indicating the precise location where the jack pads will land.
Having advanced indication helps the engineer ensure they’re clear of cars and the sidewalk before pulling the brake, as well as allowing the crew to set up the rig throw pads with confidence, the first time.
Camera systems are great, but once you’re out of the truck and grabbing gear, having a visual target can help save time. Instead of a traditional LED chip, this fixture uses a laser emitter to produce a high-intensity and hyper focused beam pattern that is unachievable by any other source-type lighting technology.
The major problem the laser cannon addresses is daytime visibility. The spherical-type optic focuses the laser emitter with so much intensity that even during the brightest day the light beam is still visible to the operator.
In 2024 we made a product improvement on the Laser Cannon bracket and implemented it as a rolling change. While the old bracket works, some customers prefer the new design.
The part # for the new bracket is P-FT-LZC2-4-BKT. If you'd like the new bracket, please contact us.
No. The laser cannon produces a focused beam of light that does not provide illumination to the surrounding area where the outrigger is set to land.
OMEN™ Lightbar
Certainly! The OMEN™ is equipped with an optical light sensor on each side of the bar. These sensors work together to compare ambient light levels, enabling accurate detection of whether it is indeed day or night.
We provide both configurations! To specify a part number for a 4-sided OMEN, simply append "-4" to the end of the part number (for example: FT-HVC-OMEN-24-4).
- Emergency master mode with white lighting
- Park emergency mode
- Day/night mode activation
- Command on Demand functionality
- Left and right traffic directing capabilities
- Cruise mode
- A scene setting
The OMEN™ is available in 24”, 36”, 48”, 60”, 72” and 84” lengths with the option of a 96”.
OMEN™ come standard with three sides but we do have a four sided OMEN available as well.
The OMEN™ is available in five vibrant colors: red, white, amber, blue, and green.
Please note the high-impact optics located on the top and bottom rows are exclusively red.
Pole Mounted Scene Lights
All of our pole-mounted scene lights are equipped with 3/4" National Pipe Threading for easy installation and compatibility.
The FT-SL-X-15-*-* model is only available in 120V; it is not offered in 12V due to potential power draw issues that could lead to performance problems.
We recommend the FT-SL-FT-* in white or black housing, available in both DC and AC power. It is compatible with most pole-mounted applications and can be easily attached to the FRC pole on your truck since it has 3/4 National Pipe Threading. The fixture closely mimics halogen light output.
We do not manufacture the poles used for our pole-mounted scene lights. Any pole or pole mount featuring 3/4" NPT threading is compatible with our scene lights.
It is a dimming wire that is used in mining applications and can be capped off. It is not needed for fire applications.
Surface & Recessed Scene Lights
Yes! Both the Guardian® and the Guardian® Elite scene lights, as well as all Guardian®-sized fixtures, are able to be installed using the bezel delete gasket. This part allows for removal of the chrome bezel and serves as a retrofit gasket to prevent water intrusion in retrofit applications.
Yes! All they need is a power source and a ground connection to function properly.
The Guardian® Surface Mount (FT-GSM) is a 70w fixture that can be used to replace your existing lights without the need for larger wire gauge.
We also offer the Guardian® Elite Surface Mount (FT-GESM) that is 125w, double the brightness, and typically necessitates the use of a larger wire gauge for proper power supply.
When utilizing one of these replacement options, be sure to include the retrofit gasket kit to prevent water intrusion into the truck.
The Guardian® Jr. (FT-GSMJR) is an ideal solution for upgrading and replacing 600 series scene lights.
The Guardian® Elite delivers an impressive output of 20,500 lumens with its asymmetric light and consumes 125 watts of power.
The Guardian® features identical optics and beam pattern but produces a lower output of 10,000 lumens while drawing only 70 watts.
Undercarriage
Absolutely! Our Undercarriage lights are designed for underwater use and can effectively illuminate the exterior of your boat.
Our Undercarriage lights can be submerged down to 100 feet.
Undercarriage lights are available in solid red, red and white, blue, and green.
Warning Lights
Yes! By setting master, slave, slave alt settings for each light and connecting the sync wire, the fixture can be synced as desired.
Yes! At a minimum, these lights can operate with simple power and ground applied. Additional functions such as an A and B pattern, a dim mode, and syncing require additional wires/signals.
The lights will not receive commands from the OMEN™ but they can exist on the same truck and work flawlessly.
Yes! Our Guardian® G25, Guardian® G14 and HVC Guardian® Mini lights are sized for rub rail placement.
Yes! The design of the product is intended to do just that. In designing the circuit for the standard warning light, we designed the microcontroller with steady burn mode and the ability to flash it. Our microcontroller is robust enough to handle this kind of use for the life of the apparatus.
We provide standard 7x9 and 4x6 surface-mounted warning lights, with the 7x9 Guardian® fixture offering the option to install with or without its bezel for versatility.
Our HVC warning lights are the only warning lights we offer with side firing LEDs.

Condensation inside sealed lighting products can occur under certain environmental conditions and does not, by itself, indicate a defect in the lamp.
When Condensation May Occur
Temporary condensation may appear inside the lens when the lamp is exposed to conditions such as:
- Rapid temperature changes (for example, moving from cold outdoor temperatures into a warm garage or building)
- High humidity or heavy rain
- Washing the vehicle with cold water on a warm day
- Extended cold soaking followed by lamp operation
These conditions are common and expected.
Normal vs. Unacceptable Condensation
Normal Condensation (Not Covered Under Warranty)
A fine mist or light fogging on the inside of the lens that:
Covers less than approximately 50 percent of the lens surface, and shows no streaks, drip marks, or standing water.
This type of condensation typically clears within 48 hours in a dry, warm environment or during normal lamp operation.
Unacceptable Condensation (Warrantable)
Condensation may be considered a defect if any of the following are present:
- Standing water or puddles inside the lamp housing
- Large, persistent water droplets on the inside of the lens
- Visible water streaking that does not diminish after 48 hours
- Condensation that significantly impairs lamp performance
Recommended Action for Customers
If condensation appears:
- Operate the lights during normal driving, or
- Park the vehicle in a dry, warm area for up to 48 hours to allow evaporation.
If the condensation does not clear within 48 hours, or if the condensation is unacceptable per the above guideline (Warrantable), please contact us.
Work Lights
The yellow wire serves as a dimming wire and should be capped off, as it is not intended for use in Fire apparatus applications.
If you’re looking for lighting of the general area in the first 50-80 feet, the 4 LED General Purpose Work Light (FT-WL-2000) works perfectly. In most applications we recommend flood and combination optics. Please reach out to us with for more options! Ask for Lee!
Our 20 LED Work and Area Light (WL-X-20) is the brightest work light we offer. At 140W, it nears the lumen levels of some of our brow light options. It is an incredibly powerful light in a small package.
We typically recommend our 9 LED (WL-X-9) and 5 LED WL-X-5 series lights for optimal performance. Each are available with handles as well. For more detailed guidance, please contact us.
Although the 5 LED WL-X-5H features a handle that allows for vertical adjustments, the 9 LED WL-X-9 stands out as the only fully adjustable FireTech work light available.
Both the 5 LED FT-WL-X-5 series and the 9 LED FT-WL-X-9 series feature integrated switches within the fixture.
