Design here. Build more here.

Building in America

We spent years manufacturing overseas because that is how this industry was built. Then the supply line got longer, slower, and harder to stand behind.

So we decided to come home.

Not as a slogan. As a plant, a payroll, and a shorter distance between the people who design the light and the people who use it at 2 a.m.

Closer to the call

Emergency lighting is not a catalog item you can wait on. Apparatus builders run schedules. Departments run calls. When lead times blow out or a fixture is not right, the cost does not show up on a factory tour. It shows up on the side of the road.

We are moving our most critical production lines to North Carolina so we can control quality closer to the customer, cut the lag in the supply chain, and stand behind what leaves the building.

That work is already underway at our home in Henderson County, including a manufacturing facility in Fletcher, and component manufacturers in Michigan.

What American manufacturing means

Owning the whole process in the United States, the design, tooling, boards, housings, test, pack, ship, is a high standard. Companies that already have that stack earned it over a long time.

That is not the only honest version of the work.

American manufacturing is also the decision to stop treating overseas production as the default. It is capital in a North Carolina building. It is engineering lab space, clean-room work, and temperature-controlled assembly. It is hiring here for warehousing, manufacturing, operations, engineering, and sales. It is building the capability instead of renting it from a hemisphere away.

We design the product. We are building more of it here. We test it for the job it has to do. We support it after it is on the truck. That is the standard we will be measured by.

The molds and fixtures that define the part

American Tooling

Bringing production home includes the tools that make it. We are working with U.S. tooling manufacturers so the molds, fixtures, and process tools for these lights are built here, close to the design team and the plant. When the tool is made in America, changes move faster, the people who cut the steel can talk to the people who own the product, and the capability stays on this side of the ocean.

Building in America: Whirl-E-Bird

Designed in the USA. Assembled in North Carolina

Whirl-E-Bird is one example of HiViz building in America. Initiated and engineered by our team in the United States, every unit is assembled at our North Carolina factory, keeping the full process under HiViz ownership from concept to finished light.

Distribution under the same roof

ships from the USA

The light is tooled here. It is assembled here. It still has to leave from somewhere.

That somewhere is our own warehouse in Hendersonville. Finished product is received, staged, and shipped to apparatus builders and departments from a building we occupy, not from a dock we do not control.

Owning how the product leaves means we can see it, hold it, and stand behind what goes out the door.

the next chapter

North Carolina

Henderson County has been home to this company for years. The next chapter is here too.

We have invested $7 million to bring critical production stateside, including a facility on Continuum Drive in Fletcher. That investment is expected to create about 100 new American jobs over two years.

We are doing this to improve deliverability, shorten lead times, and make the supply chain something we can actually stand behind.

The job of the light does not change. First responders still have to see the work. Apparatus builders still have to hit a ship date. Our warranty and support still have to mean something when a product is in the field.

Building in America is how we protect that, not a substitute for it.
