On August 6, 2026, just after 2 p.m., Lindsay Volunteer Fire Department, Moss Lake VFD, and Gainesville Fire-Rescue were dispatched to a fast-moving grass fire on CR 405 just north of Lindsay, Texas.
According to first-in photographer and reporter Texas_Responds_144Q, bystanders were already on scene trying to hold the fire with a garden hose and industrial brooms. Lindsay and Moss Lake units arrived quickly, knocked down the spread, and fully extinguished the fire. When Gainesville arrived, Lindsay was able to go in service and return.
The first-arriving unit? Lindsay FD’s brand-new Brush 140.
